As I went through the pages looking for a specific page the picture below fell out of the pages. It is a great reminder of the heritage I have. I’m grateful for having parents who modeled Christ to me.

After talking with him for about 30 min last Sat, I was assured he was ready to take this next step.

We had a sweet moment at the Westside pond last night with his great uncle, great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all there to be a part and share in this moment.

We are so grateful for a healthy baby. Being a little less than 5 weeks early, the doctor had nothing but good news on our little man’s health. We thank God for His hand of protection and we are grateful for all the prayers.

1st Day Recap

I have heard more people talk about separating or getting a divorce in the last year than ever before. It makes me mad.  The moral and marital climate in the church has to change. If we are truly following Christ, then our relationships with our spouses should reflect Jesus. We need to stop justifying divorce and start pursuing what it means to be like Jesus in our marriages and families.

Help us change the marital climate and invite someone to our “Help! I’m Married” Series beginning on Feb. 7.

It’s time to wage war on what it means to follow Christ as a married couple. What are you going to do to about it?

I was able to read 3 books and Cassie was able to read books other than text books for class. If you have never taken a cruise, and you are looking for a vacation where:

• You only have to decide what to eat, not where.
• You don’t have to make your bed.
• You don’t have to decide where to go.
• You want to see multiple locations.
• You love the beach.
• You like variety in a vacation.
• You want to relax and not worry about anything.
• You want great food and great service.
• You want to sleep with a crack in the middle of the bed. (my only negative comment)
• You can comment and add to this list…

This was our second time to the Western Caribbean. Our stops were:

• Costa Maya
• Belize
• Cozumel
• Grand Cayman

Cassie and I on our 2009 Carnival Cruise

This past Sunday we finished our Sunday portion of What If the Church with Mike Bickley from Olathe Bible Church. Mike did a great job talking to us about Walking Humbly.

Jordan and Jessica Duckworth did an amazing job by leading all 6 services Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday over 1,500 people were involved in a Kansas City Wide Serve day, cleaning up, restoring buildings, renovating neighborhoods and ministering to people. Reminds me of the saying: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

Tomorrow night we wrap up the series What if the Church with our God of this City Worship and Prayer night at Theater in the Park.

We hope to see over 3,000 people for this year’s event. It starts at 7p.

I enjoyed having the weekend off and spending it with the family in Neosho. Cassie and I had fun shopping in Joplin and eating with the fam in Rogers and playing with Kylee.
