Going to School Day 14: The Lock on Faith

25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.
Mark 11:25

Jesus is clear on one thing: If you want to be forgiven, you must forgive. This is a complicated subject. At what point have you forgiven someone? I think that to answer that question we have to look at how God has forgiven us.

  • We didn’t have to earn God’s forgiveness.
  • God doesn’t bring up our past once He’s forgiven us.
  • God deals with us through Jesus’ righteousness. In other Word’s, God sees us through His Son’s purity.

Our forgiveness isĀ contingentĀ upon our ability to forgive those who hurt us.
